August 15- December 20, 2015. Many citizens who were enticed by the uncharted lands of the west built early Rockford life. Robert Tinker was one such lad, who at the tender age of 19, uprooted from his home in Westfield, New York and settled in Rockford, Illinois. The youth quickly formed a friendship with the Dorr family; Josephus Dorr, Hannah Door, and his future wife, Mary Dorr Manny. August 22- Victorian Light Party.

All too often, we forget the beauty, history and culture that is in our own backyards. We frequently think of visiting these cultural treasures but regretfully do not. Lack of time or money seem to get in the way. Therefore, it is the job of institutions to connect with the communities that surround them. The biggest question is how? How to create a memorable interaction? .
